An Interval Relay Race is a team event where runners choose
to run distances of personal choice, instead of the standard method of running
designated legs between exchange points.
Runners may exchange the baton at any time, or any order, running as
short, or as long a distance as you may desire.
This makes for more team participation, with strategies like putting
fast runners on the flats, strong runners on the hills, and sprinters near the
finish.
